Both books are combined in a new hardcover edition from Europa Verlag.
The third edition of Film verstehen from Rowohlt
Taschenbuch Verlag, edited by Hans-Michael Bock, was published in July,
2000. Our thanks to translator and editor Hans-Michael Bock and his associates, and Ludwig Moos, and the staff of Rowohlt
for their professional attention to detail. As he did with the first two German
editions, Bock -- a well-known scholar and filmmaker -- has "localized"
Film verstehen so that it stands quite on its own, more than just a translation.
Completely revised and expanded, with additional chapters and a new Chronology, Film verstehen
now appears in a larger format, with many more illustrations.
